My 2013 Tuxedo Black Metallic hood paint is checking. For those not familiar with checked paint think "crows feet." Has anyone else seen this pop up? I find it interesting that only the hood paint has failed. Some manufacturers have offered secret warranties for such things but I've not seen anything of the sort on the interwebz.

Warranty on 2013 paint? I would expect to see failing paint on the entire front clip of the car compared to the rest of it. The front end of every vehicle takes a beating

Sun and weather are horrible for black painted vehicles. My 06 F150 roof paint is almost faded gray, even with it being ceramic coated. Body shop for it this summer for sure.

Is there a chance the hood has been repainted, and the shop that repainted it or the insurance company might offer a warranty on the repair?

I have an 2014 Tuxedo Black but no checked paint just a faded roof that’s slowly spreading down the pillars to the fenders. Clear coat is pretty much done. My hood is starting to bubble on the front lip and my trunk lip is rusting now. Definitely time for some body shop attention.
Great question! Only if the factory did so. I've had car this since new. I suspect the hood is/was painted separate from the rest since roof, trunk, fender tops are all good.
That's a disappointment isn't it.

I had the same issue on my 13. I had it in a body shop to fix an issue on the bumper that an uninsured driver was nice enough to involve me in. We noticed it then and I had the hood repainted because of it. This was just last year. No repaint up to that point so was still from the factory paint up to then.
