Hello everyone, new member here... got a 2013 SHO a month ago, and it's a BLAST!

However, for the heck of it one day, I scanned it for DTCs and found a P0012. Cam "A" too ********.

I realized that I saw the check-engine light flicker one day, and didn't realize what it was.

So, I cleared the code, and checked a few days later, and it was back.

I noticed that on a hard right-turn, under heavy acceleration, I see the check-engine light flicker. It's done it twice now at the exact same place when I go to work, making that hard right-turn.

It doesn't buck, or lose power, which is the odd thing, but the code is certainly not supposed to be there.

I'm wondering if anyone else has ever seen this code with their SHO?

(No, I haven't checked for the chafing wires to the knock sensor - YET - but I have only 1100 miles on it so far)

Haven't made it to the dealer yet, but that flickering light was my traction control ;)

Cleared out the code again just last week, haven't scanned it again yet.

Having lots of fun with the Torque App for Android, and even using my SCT X3 to datalog this thing. I really REALLY want to figure out what's going on before I take it to the dealer.

If it doesn't trip a check engine light, I would not be too concerned. Codes come and go with the PCM. If they happen repeatedly, it will trip a check engine light and usually means there is a problem. That is the way the system was designed.

Yeah I would get it looked at, bad cam phaser solenoids are known issue on some 3L v6 ford motors. I havent heard of being a issue on the SHO yet, but there is always a first.

Just to report back on this, it hasn't happened over the past 2 months or so. Coincidentally, I changed the oil to Mobil 1 5w30 about the last time I scanned the car and cleared the code.

That was around 5500 miles, I'm now at 7500, no more codes.
