If you don't know what you are doing, it can. Hold the blade square on the window. Use a 45 degree angle or tighter and you'll be okay. This is the preferred way to remove stickers on windows too.

A Hammer.... :D :bonk:

I know that the orange pumice hand cleaner works really well. but Along with any chemical, there comes a lot of scrubbing.

You'd really have to screw up to really scratch the window... I've done it MANY times on my cars to remove crap. You'd have to have a bad blade or dig the corner in to mess it up.

Use a single edged razor blade with a fresh sharp blade. I think you can fing a thing called a widget at K-Mart or Wall Mart for about a $1.50. It has a few single edged razor blades in a handle and it is made, more or less, for scraping paint off of glass.

As stated above scrape at about a 45 degree angle. A dull blade is far more likely to scratch the window than a sharp one.

If the paint is fresh I would not get anywhere near it with paint thinner. rangerj

I had a ton of overspray on mine, I used one of those Scotchbrite pads that are made to clean glass cook tops on stoves. It was much faster than scraping and scraping and scraping and scraping and scraping.....

A razor blade will work just fine. With fresh paint, it should come off like nothing. It's really difficult to scratch glass.... i haven't done it yet and i've used a blade alot!

Acetone, denatured alcohol, or paint thinner work much faster...

Not in my experience.... Go over an area just once with a blade and the paint is gone. No wiping or scrubbing.

I had racing stripes on the front and rear windows that I started to use the 'blade on. I poured the 'alcohol on it and wiped it right off instead. No paint shavings left over either...just toss the rag once you are done with it.

overspray vs intentional painting. overspray is the topic, razor blade is the quick and easiest way.

for me, its faster to slide the razor blade over the glass than open a can of acetone or thinner, apply to a rag, then rub back and forth for several strokes.

use a razor blade to clean, then compressed air to remove the scrapings.

use thinner/acetone/other chemical, have to watch your coverage to insure you dont mess up the purdy paint job.
