I tried to get the moonroof closed today during a rainstorm to no avail. I took apart the moonroof switch and after removing the plastic part, how in the **** do you contact the little black part to something up there to "activate" the switch to allow me to "trick" the roof into closing?

Also..does anyone have a writeup/way to use a window switch in leiu of that crappy ford switch? I sure as **** ain't paying $50 to the dealer for another switch that will break in a month.. headbang

Do a search for "moonfoof problem". Yes it is misspelled. Your fix lies within.

I don't know how to close it manually.

The oem switch is a joke. You could try to use a small screwdriver near the pivot point of the switch. Look at the broken part. That's where it would contact the tiny microswitch. Do this at your own risk. I have no idea if it is wrongheaded.

I have tried to "trick" it into closing by contacting the black part onto the metal tab attached to the roof. Lotsa sparks, no luck...

Does that little tab just contact the rear of the black switchbox? I might have a burned up motor, perhaps? I dunno... shrug
