95 atx. So ever since I took the intake manifold off, the temp gauge would creep up to the N or the O, then go back to where it should be, by the M or A. After searching and reading a couple threads on this I concluded that it was not a big deal (air bubble in the coolant?) Today after driving about 20 miles I noticed steam coming from under the hood so I stopped and the coolant was empty. I took the intake off more than 4 weeks ago so why would it do this now? Also, there is no heat inside the car. Any suggestions as to what it could be are greatly appreciated.

Get a loan-a-tool pressure tester from AZ, AA, etc. and pressure test your system. That will help you determine where coolant is being lost. The only coolant hoses that come off when removing the intake are the throttle body cooling hoses.

I had the same thing going on after I took my intake off to put on new valve cover gaskets and found one of my hose clamps under the throttle body wasn't tighten preventing it to be a air tight system

Thanks for all the input so far. Unfortunately I'm at work right now and I can't check the TB hoses and such, but please keep the suggestions coming so I can try to find the problem when I get to working on my car tomorrow morning. What about the no heat in the car, is that connected to the engine cooling problem? I noticed that when the temp gauge would go up, usually under accel, that the heat inside the car would go down. And when at cruising speeds, the gauge would return to normal and so would the heat inside.
