Hey guys I have a 92 MTX SHO with 137,000 miles on it and has been running very good. Recently I noticed that the coolant in the Overflow tank was kinda low to the Botoom of the tank so i added some ok. Well My car runs very cool I haven't noticed any signs of over heating at all ok. But twice this week after driving i notice that the coolant is just poring out of of the over flow tube? when I park it?? was wondering if this is just from over filling the tank? The tanks on these cars are very big so I dont even put much on. I also checked the coolant in the Radiator and looks to be fine. Any help would be greatly apreciated thank you very much

You probably overfilled it. I'm sure it wont happen again or maybe 1 more time if you really overfilled it. As long as the car is not running too hot and you know your temp gauge is good, I wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes when the motor is already hot and you add coolant, there is already enough but it is still inside the motor and circulating. Then when you shut the car off and the coolant bottle fills up it overflows.

The previous guys had good advice for you but I think you might have a leaky bottle. These plastic overflow bottles easily crack, I too had a crack in my overflow bottle and everyday I would have a puddle of coolant from the bottle. Doesn't hurt to check, just remove you overflow bottle, check it for any hairline cracks or just fill it up all the way to the top with water and see if it leaks. And also check the return lines, to and from the bottle, for cracks or leakage. I wrapped my overflow bottle with some kind of adhesive wrap and now I am leak free and no longer have to keep refilling my overflow bottle with that pricy coolant. Hope everything works out well for you and I hope I was some kind of assistance to you.

I just replaced the overflow bottle in my 94 yesterday with a JY unit due to a crack. That hing had been puking coolant for a couple of months... It wasn't until I pulled it out that I was able to see the crack on the bottom.

As mentioned, you may have just over filled it. Keep an eye on it to see it the leak persists. This has happened to me as well, I did over filled mine. There's a level where you don't want to pass marked on the bottle.

Keep an eye on the temp. If it is running high in the normal range the thermostat may be starting to fail. This happened to my wife's 93. I thought the heater core was going because some coolant steam would seep into the dash and smell. This went on for a good 8 months before it failed fully closed. If none of the other ideas seem to work keep this in mind next.
