Outside temp. on EATC, can you keep it on all the time?

After working on many GM cars, I found that some of them have the outside temperature showing all the time. Does anyone know if we can program the outside temp. to stay on longer than the few seconds it does normally?

Nope. It's in the EATC logic. The 96+ EATC's in F/L/M products do it, but none of those will work in the SHO...

If you hold the button if it will stay on all the time. This tells me that if you wired the button in reverse then it would work in reverse. Like the Gen 3s do.

I wonder if that would mess up the EATC brain though?

On a gen 2 there is a wire that you have to ground out for the display to show in C. There is a writeup about it on shotimes I think.
