Hey all been a long long time since my 1991 SHO but I now have a 2013 PP SHO that I absolutely love but there are a few things I would like to try and clean up on it. For starters the rear backup camera is an absolute mess. You can barely see out of it in the day time and when its raining or foggy forget about it. And yes I have gone back there an cleaned the lens and no it doesn't make a difference. Does anyone know if anywhere that has an online junkyard database that I can find a new backup camera at? Been looking online and cant find any under the 300 level and the dealership are at least that amount. Or on the flip side are there any cameras from other cars that the part numbers coincide with ours that I can look for. Also the vents on the back of the arm rest for the back seats have been missing since I bought the car and I would love to get those replaced so it looks better. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

I believe the new camera need to be programmed. Mine got very grainy and the dealer replaced but the back warning boxes and white lines that turn when you turn the wheel were not there. Brought it back and they said they didn't program it correctly the first time and had it all back t how it should be.

My 2013 was the same...backup camera was almost useless. I got one off Car-Part.com and didn't have to program it to work. Camera was $60 and came off a 2016. Hope that helps!

My 2015 Backup Camera works great. I love the lines that guide you into the parking space.

Maybe it's the camera module itself that needs to be programmed? And getting one from another Taurus would be it should be programmed for the car already?

Thats good to know. I had never heard of a camera needing to be programmed but there is a first time for everything. Were you able to just get the camera and nothing else?

Me neither but the green/yellow/red lines where there and a dotted center line that was not there before the camera was replaced. It took me a couple days to notice, once the dealer "reprogrammed it" the dotted line was gone and the boxes that show up when you get closer to an object came back along with the curving white lines. I didn't ask further. I wonder if this is something that can be done in forscan.

To be honest I'm not sure if the camera calibration is for the APIM or the actual camera module. The internet tells us it's for the camera module. But since I bought a used one from a Taurus it was good to go with out doing any programming. So unless someone has bought a brand new camera from Ford that's never been installed in a car, and had to have it programmed to work properly?

I posted a how to on fixing the camera issue with a link to the part #. All I had to do was replace the camera and then turn off and back on the park assist lines. I think the part cost me ~$35, but it took a month to arrive from Hong Kong. Has been working fine for a long time.

Unfortunately Amazon says the part is out of stock and they don't know when it will be back in stock :(
