Ok so i'm a little lost with the info. Do you have an actual code for crank sensor failure? Are there any codes still showing up? Please post them. More specific can get better responses from people far away. With replaced everything, does that mean timing belt and crank sensor when you did the water pump?

Ok. Was the car running when you did this work? Just looking at why was the work done and did the issue start before or after the replacement stuff. You said all the belts. When we go in there we usually replace everything while it is exposed to include waterpump, timing belt, crank sensor, even front main seal so hopefully we don't have to go back into that area for a long time.

You have been here for a long time so I'm sure you know most of this. 211 usually crank sensor.

Does it crank and not start, engine just spins? I had a timing belt on backwards, three of the four marks lined up

I think you have it narrowed down. Unfortunately crank sensors are expensive if you can find them. i'll send you a link

The crank sensor is really fussy about having the proper clearance from the crankshaft reluctor wheel, like the thickness of a cover on paper matches. If that 3 piece front cover has been off, (or not), maybe some crap fell down onto the sensor. I think that would give you a code.

It is not unusual for a failed water pump that began weeping to take out the crank sensor.
