i just installed a guage for oil pressure in my car; Does anybody have the specs for the correct oil pressure? My manual does not have the low/high limits. With new rod bearing, my car, at idle, has 10-15 psi. Is this okay?

Sounds about right. Seems like its supposed to be about 12psi at idle hot, and about 10psi for every 1000 rpm after that.
I guess the reason I'm asking is this;
When driving in traffic, the low oil pressure light will flicker at stop lights. Not all the time, just once in awhile. I just installed a new mechanical guage and a new oil pressure sending unit. When the light flickers, the guage reads 10+ psi. Which one is right?

You could try replacing the factory sender. Otherwise, you might want to get the rod bearings changed out before you have serious problems. Try doing a search on the sender and low oil pressure.
the pressure sender is a mechanical gauge. it is like the difference between a wideband a/f gauge and narrowband. the factory gauge just tells you when its under a certain psi or above it. your aftermarket gauge tells you the number in psi the pressure is.

factory sender's bad. Replace it. They go bad pretty much all the time nowadays.

I believe the factory oil pressure sender is to close and send the light signal at 5 psi. Sounds like yours might be coming on with a higher pressure. I agree you should change it there pretty cheap.

I see you just changed your bearings AND your pressure sensor so I won't suggest either of those...lol

My question would be why did you change the rod bearings in the first place?
The engine that was in the car expired. Since the engine we bought had
150k, I elected to put new bearing in it before we put the engine back in. BTW, the bearing that were in there looked great for having 150k. I use 5w-30 right now as it still gets kind of chilly here in Minn.. The low light hasn't come one now for almost 2 days. Hopefully it won't.

The reason I asked is sometimes folks drive the SHO "knocking" with bad rod bearings. Heat builds up and does a number on the crank; then they just slap in a set of bearings thinking everything will be fine. But it looks like you may be o.k.
