What should the hot oil pressure be for a healthy SHO engine running 10w-30 abient temps ~70 at 2500rmps?

When everything is at operating temps and normal pressure, its supposed to rise 12.5 psi for every 1000 rpms with 12.5 psi the norm for an idle at 1k.

Do you have an electrical gauge or mechanical? Stock is ~13psi at idle. I think I'm running right around 35psi at about 3k, and I have a 180* t-stat. But I'm sure its better that you have newer RB's (which I need to get on that )

mines mechanical. -sunpro....

got a better look at it tonight... just to get it right on the money... (i normally just glance and see if its in the right area..) at 70mph (2600) im right at 43psi. with coolant at 180ish... (the coolant gauge is off by about 15* ) and the abient (sp?) being 80* ...

Well, I'm not sure which t-stat is in it. I haven't changed it. I'm guessing whatever is stock. I have mechanical guages. My idle oil pressure looks good. Usually around 14psi. I have new rbs just waiting for me to get to them. So, it sounds like my running psi is a little low. What could that mean?

My cruising hot oil pressure runs about the same as yours....usually about 5 psi higher than the rpm k's....like at 2500 rpm, I run about 30 psi.

This is on an AutoMeter mechanical gauge, hooked up through a T fitting along with the idiot light sensor......it reads a little lower than the old SunPro gauge I used to have, but I trust the AutoMeter more. For oil, I run Castrol GTX 10W30, with a Motorcraft FL-1 filter.

I have replaced the rod bearings, and done all 60k maintenance. With the exception of a bit of timing chain slap on the front head, my engine is seemingly entirely healthy....although my oil pressure does seem a little lower than ideal. I don't really worry about it too much tho.
