Okay, today is d-day. I'm going to be doing the rod bearings as soon as I return home from AutoZone to pick up some Ultra Black RTV. I'm not sure of the exact procedure of installing seals and where to or not to RTV, and for that matter how much to use! I just want to make sure I do this right.

Additionally, I am going to be installing a new rear main carrier gasket as part of the clutch job in progress. Do I need to do this before the new oil pan seals, or after? I want to make sure that everything seals up properly on the bottom/rear end!

Thanks :)

Do the rod bearings and oil pan seals after the rear main, and carrier gasket seals. When you remove the carrier gasket plate it could disturb the pan gasket, so you don't want to do that after putting in a new oil pan gasket. The oil pan gaskets go on the front and rear of the pan, ie. the passenger side and driver side of the pan. The sides of the pan get sealed with RTV. As for an amount, I'm not sure but I wouldn't be skimpy with it, as it seals the sides of the pan. Try to keep the RTV bead closer to the outside of the pan as you don't want it going inside the pan. :) Good luck!
