I was having my flowmasters put on today naughty
oh yeah baby!!!!!!!! :D
Anyways, I was inspecting the undercarriage during installation. No oil is dripping, but at the far passenger side of the oil pan, one of the bolts is wet with oil. That side of the oil pan is grimy too. Is this most likely just the oil pan... please don't tell me CAM SEALS :(
I wonder if I should try to tighten THAT bolt a bit more shrug
ALso, I was looking in the area where I plan to install my fogs, the air dam I assume =(where the slits are)... there appears to be a tranny cooler line in that vicinity. The rubber hose connected to it appears to be leaking. Any input or advice... Could it just need to be inserted further (has it backed out maybe?)? Hey, I had the whole front bumper repainted, and I know it was removed to repaint it. Could they have screwed with that line?????

Could very well be the tranny cooler lines. Mine were just replaced last summer and a few others have had the same problem. In your case it could just be the rubber hoses leaking. That would be easier and cheaper to fix.

Next time you get a chance, check out what color the leaking fluid is. If it's redish or pinkish it's tranny fluid. The smell should give it away too. Keep an eye on the tranny fluid levels too. Mine was low because it was leaking and my torque convertor was shuddering because of it got too low on fluid.

David, your rear valve cover was leaking (quite common), so the oil you're seeing in that area is probably the result.

Definitely check and repair the tranny cooler plumbing if you're leaking from there too.

PS, fix your sig, there's a ton of blank lines at the bottom! :)

Another V8 oil leak location is where the 2 piece block is mated together. Usually around the back of the A/C compressor.

If the spring type OEM clamps are still on the tranny cooler get rid of them and use worm gear type clamps.

Chris, will the valve covers continue to leak even after you and Kirk cleaned the gaskets?
