You need to do a top 60k. Valve cover gaskets, intake gaskets etc. where is it smoking from? Might need to do cam seals too.. when you replaced the crank sensor did you replace the crank seal?

Your valve cover gasket set has little pucks that sit at the bottom of your spark plug well. The new pucks keep the oil out of the well.
Your car will miss due the oil shorting out the plug, so when you do the gaskets, that problem goes away, and maybe the smoking as well. Go to Rockauto or Shosource or your local autoparts store and price them, I believe they are all Fel Pro brand.
Plugs and wires should be checked as well.

I've changed the cps iac plugs wires valve gasket and plug gaskets today also the water pump coil pack and tps

I'm lost ...any suggestions ? The wires were replaced supposably by the owner a few week ago but a boot is cracked. Yes and everything is routes right. I cleaned the maf again too. Ugh
What to do? I'm also having trouble getting the fuel filter off with subframe connectors . I checked all the shim specs too on the valves! Very busy day ugh But good mews is that it's not smoking anymore

So whats up, its just running roughh now? Did you get that filter out? I always have to remove the clamp completely and bend things to get them to come out..

But onto the funny idle thing.... have you tried unplugging the Cam Position sensor and see if that has any effect?

LoL... well man the CPS is behind the crank pulley. That cam sensor is easy to get to, and the car will run fine with it unplugged.

You might do good to check around all the vaccum lines... its very possible a small leak could cause some funny idle issues too... probally more so than anything else.. :) I'd check those out... everything past the MAF, and in the intake... it dosen't take much to throw it out of whack @ idle..

and do you have a pic u can put up here of how that SFC is in the way? Like I said, I gotta bend those brackets and take the clamp all the way out to get the thing out on mine, and I don't have SFC's... so its not real simple anyway... I always seem to fight those stupid things..

if youve got a cracked boot that will cause a miss.. fix that. also. USE THE EFFING GREASE i said. If your boot is cracked its arcing somewhere.. Either tape and use the grease or replace the wire.. How do you know there is no vacuum leak?

I would definatly say to change wires. The one is cracked, plus if there was oil in the plug wells it can cause them to fail. Kind of a simple fix, but did you do the idle reset procedure after changing the gaskets ect. As far as the SFC, you should be able to get the fuel filter out, its just a pain. May require a universal ect.

Eric, I dont have a pic of my SFC, but they basically go right under where you pull the fuel filter out from, so they are in the way.

In case you didn't know - when you check for vacuum leaks you should spray a fine mist of water all around the intake manifold and all vacuum hoses as when the car is running it will suck the mist of water into the motor and cause it to stumble. Don't worry - there's no way in **** it can hydrolock it using that method.

Replace the plug wires.... again. With any luck, your cracked boot is on the front side and will be easy to swap out.
Once you have oil or water in your plug wells, your plug wires are subjected to conditions they can't handle. Plus, if the previous owner was rough on the wires during the install, they will misbehave. I had NAPA wires (Beldon, I believe) that gave me grief right out of the box and had to be returned under warranty. So who knows.

The 89 SHO I bought had VERY cheap wires installed when the 60k service was done 10,000 Miles before I got the car. One of the plug wires cracked at the boots causing the car to miss. I replaced them with some from Tayor. Make sure you use Electric grease on the new wires.

You also need to replace the spark plug well seals if you have oil in the plug wells. Not a hard Job.
