I use Motorcraft on the SHO because it's still under warranty and that's what they put in it, but for everything else I own I use Wix.

That's a lot of stuff. Three Harleys, three F350s and 450s, two MGs, a JD 710G, a JD 310, a JD 410, a Fiat-Allis loader, two Hitachi EX220LCs, a couple skid-steers and all the small engines. And every boat I've ever owned, either gas or diesel.

We used Wix filters on our airplanes when I was a Coast Guard aviator and every company I've worked for uses them in their heavy equipment.

I've NEVER had a failure of a Wix filter. But I've seen the damage done by NOT Wix filters. As far as I'm concerned there's nothing better. If there was Wix would be making it.

Surprising!! I wonder why. They were approved and readily available in the 70s. But I'll bet they're still used on all ground-support equipment.

i'd be more concerned about frequency of oil changes than type of filters - go 3K miles or less - keep those chains and tensioners happy
