Does anybody know what the Ohm rating of the factory JBL sub is? I am going to get a JL audio 6.5" sub and need to know what the Ohm rating is. I would check mine with a multimeter, but it is blown. Thanks in advance guys.

Well, from my own experience, factory speakers are usually like 4.2 ohm's or something of the sort. If you want to replace the factory one, I would say it would be very safe in going with a 4 ohm speaker. I have replaced my factory speakers many times, and I replace with 4 ohm speakers.

So there is my 2 cents.

The jbl sytem in the SHO and many other OEM is 6 OHMS. The stock amp will handle 4 ohms. I've even had mine down to 2 ohms and never had any problems. Just don't know how long it can take that load.

you can use whatever ohm rating you want to as long as you match it on the other end
