I don't think I am interested in nitrous anymore, because I bought a used 9 psi Powerdyne supercharger kit today.

Now I need to get a transmission to hold all that power.

The package included the Powerdyne 9 LB supercharger, SHO mounting
bracket, plumbing to go from the S/C to the throttle body, a SHO engine
computer with an SC Tuner chip, Mustang fuel rails, & 36 lb injector
set.

I will have full custom exhaust since this is going in another car.

I know I also need an 80mm maf, what other engine mods are NECESSARY?
BBB? Ported Intake runners? Other things?

I am starting to think about just starting on a 3.2 motor from an ATX car since I won't be using an SHO transmission. I can get MTX cams right away. Would I use the MTX car's ecu with the 3.2? What about the wiring harness?

Thanks a lot guys

Jordan

You have the right idea. Get a 3.2 and use the 3.0 wiring harness and computer. Get a set of 3.0 heads to make life easier. They can be found pretty easily. The intake mods you mentioned are a good idea as well. What's this going into?

1985 Toyota MR2.

We're talking 2300 lbs tops
Most likely less.

Why bother with a 3 liter head? Why not just cams?

Okay, do I NEED anything other than the 80 mm MAF?

Are ported runners and BBB's a necessity?

Yes, I am buying this from Bill. He seems like a great guy, does he still post here?

The head choice for out cars is due to mounting bracketry for the MTX car config. along with the beneficial cam setup. I suppose if you use the entire 3.2 setup, sans tranny, you would not have to worry about it.

Ported runners and bbb's aren't necessary, but you will get more power by being able to push more air. You could always add that later.

Honestly I have no problem saying what I paid, but I don't know that the seller is okay with it, so I won't post the total....It was a pretty good deal in my opinion, but I committed right off the bat too.

I run a 240lph successfully at up to 15psi. A 190 would be adequate if tuned correctly, but I'd probably want to see more than that just in case.

I am not sure if Bill ever posted here, to be honest.

And Josh, FWIW, I've been plugging away & posting about Bill's setup since last year. Get the wax out of your ears. :)

Jordan, all the mods you mention help create more power, but are not "necessary". It depends on the MAF that the SC Tuner setup was configured around. Nothing says you can't run with a different MAF, you'll just have to accomodate it.

This is funny, I'm not sure what to do here. It was a kit that was on an SHO, however now it's going on a Toyota now.

SHO related S/C questions would normally be asked in the S/C, Nitrous section but it really doesn't pertain to the SHO anymore. I think I'll move it there anyhow.

I ended up backing out of the Supercharger deal, ShoGuy11, I hope you are the person who ended up getting the kit.

I read about Powerdyne units and it sparked some concerns for me. Since the vehicle won't be running until mid or late summer, and the supercharger probably wouldn't go on until even later (get the teething problems taken care of) I didn't want to run in to trouble with a kit I had owned for 6 months but never tried out.

I may supercharge the car down the line, but I will probably make my own kit. There doesn't seem to be much to them, and I will already be running a TwEECer.
