Well, I had my y pipe disconnected where it goes into 1 pipe to check for restriction.
I put it back together and now it leaks and it sounds HORRIBLE:(
Is this common? Do I need new bolts? (it seems they only tighten to a certain spot, doesnt hardly compress the springs... I believe they are original bolts)
It did NOT leak prior to THIS.
I have an exhaust ****** gasket left over from a 60k I recently had done. Did not get around to changing that out. Where, exactly, does that go?

Did you put a new doughnut seal between the Y-pipe and the resonator pipe? Mine sounded like crap when I got it and that was the problem.

that is the same gasket. and the y-pipe is tricky to set right, just try it a few times.

The donut may have deteriorated and have a chunk or two missing. It will have to be replaced, probably.

Also, check the resonator ****** to see if part of it rusted off and can no longer make a proper seal. Mine was like that requiring either a new resonator pipe or a new connection ******. About 15 bucks at AutoZone for a new piece, a new clamp, some exhaust sealant, and a hacksaw fixed the leak. It ain't purty, though.
