Hello All,

I recently bought the 2017 SHO PP (Finally) and was looking around under the hood. I see this part above the fuse box and next to the battery with electrical tape on it. I am wondering if that tape is there normally there or did the original owner do some modifications. Would anyone know why this part would need to be opened?

The weirdest part is actually the battery terminals. Apparently some cars have replaceable terminals, others have to buy a couple hundred buck harness/terminal/widget.

Yea I've got the $300 terminal set. You can actually buy JUST the fuse block for like $60 if it goes, but still not fun. I'm not sure if it's the 402A cars that have it or what.

Mine has terminals that bolt to the harness separate from the rest. I think they are like 10$ from ford. I wonder what year they switched or if it's a package thing.

I had a corrosion issue, caused by a cracked terminal. When I replaced the battery I went ahead and replaced the terminal as well. Cheap insurance or something like that.

I have a 2013 MKS EcoBoost and it has the replaceable terminal. I just replaced it because someone (not me) left out the little wedge to tighten the clamp down to the battery post.
