I just got done putting my intake manifold back on after replacing my plugs, plug wires, and valve cover gaskets on my 93 ATX. I am positive I connected everything right because I had my mom and my Grandpa (a retired marine mechanic) to check to make sure I plugged everything up properly. After my grandpa went home I tried to start the engine, and it cranked and fired up, but then died about 2 seconds after starting. I tried it two more times and found that if I held the gas in a litle it would stay on, but if i let go of the gas to idle the engine, it would just die. At the time i didnt have the air filter installed, but i had the filter cover and everything else hooked up. My grandpa thinks that something may be wrong with the idle program in the car's computer but he's not sure b/c he wasnt there when i started it. If this does sound like a computer problem, what cna be done to fix it, and if not, what else could be done?

what wood_e said, fisrt.

You also have to make sure thet the MAF is connected and that the intake air is actually being pulled through it. If the intake tube were not connected, you would have your symptoms.

the one that adjusts where the throtle flap is when you're not on the gas pedal?

Yeah, you're not supposed to touch it.
You CAN move the throttle sensor around alittle, then tighten the screws. It's the black piece with wires on the front of the tob (towards front of the car, anyways).

Well, it doesn't say 'right on' the screw, but it says on that annoying piece of plastic with all that garbage information that the idle is not adjustable.
