Not Functioning CD player

Ok so heres my problem... I have a sony Head unit, and awhile ago i pulled it out and the ground connection came undone and touched the lead (yes it was bad) anyway I replaced the fuse in the fuse box. Plug my cd player back in and all it does is accept and eject CDs, no lights no playing, etc. I took the unit to a service center, they said it checks out fine, so obviously the problem is on my end. Any idea what could be causing this. My suspected wires would be the lead, ground, and whatever the green with a yellow stripe wire is (the wire it connects to on the harness is supposed to be "constant +12V VDC").
Can anyone recommend what to look @ here? Before I hit my whits end and just take it to an installer and have them look @ it.
