As most of you know I do some of my own tuning. That which the software allows me to do. Kirk has expressed and interest in offering this service through his business, Northeast SHO and has asked me to do the actual tuning.

We will concern ourselves to The GEN 3-4 Taurus using the SCT packages and SCT dealer software. This is currently the Xcal2 which holds three programs. Initially we need to get some base data from stock cars on a dyno and will be doing this either in the Chicago area or near Spencer MA.

There are several depths of tuning one may want to mod to, transmission control, much better fuel control, decel tweaks and such. If you have ever wondered why that CAI or muffler mod you have done didn't do anything this can make the mods work.

We haven't set a time for the dyno work and will offer a discount on any programs you would purchase if you allow us to data log the runs. Looking for stock Taurus with the three different motors, Vulcan, Duratec and V8.

Should have the software this week. With the newest hardware form SCT the user can load up files into the Xcal2 that are emailed to them. Makes for much quicker tuning changes.

So I buy an XCal2, I can make the tuning changes you suggest. If you find something better, you can e-mail that setup to me and I can make the changes? That's pretty sweet. XCal2's are like 300 bucks? I might have to look into that..

There are a limited amount of parameters you can change. The older Xcal2 needed to be sent back to the dealer to have new tunes loaded into them., The new ones can be done by the user with a tune from the dealer.

Don't know about the $300 though.though, I have not seen any for the SHO at that price. Limited market and all.

We are now "officially" an SCT Authorized Dealer, and show up in their dealer locator at http://www.sctflash.com

It's going to take us a bit to get all ramped up with this, and once we are we'll be making a number of announcements so stay tuned here and to our website!

The folks at SCT are aware of the situation and are working on it.:thumb:

I've got a local contact (and by local I mean 1/2 mile away with a very nice shop and dyno!) too who has been trained by SCT, so we've been chatting about it too.

I just want it back to stock so I can trade in for a Xcal2 or so that I can get the damn tuner to work again. I must have screwed it up when I tried to play with the tuning.

As for the pinging, I know my FPR is weak, I may get around to changing it soon. It's been hectic with the new house.

Think you can guys can get my PCM back to stock? I've got a tune stuck in it and it pings like heck on anything less than 91.

Try pulling the SPOUT plug out by the PCM connector.

If you're not getting anywhere with your current vendor, let me know and I will contact SCT about it in the AM and see what they can suggest or if you can RMA it through us.

Is NESHO doing anything with the piggyback chips, or are you focusing just on the X-CAL tuners? I have an SCT chip already in my SHO, but I'm not satisfied with the programming and would like it done right. I would rather have a tuner, but I'm still in College for one more semester (maybe more if I pursue my doctorate), and money is always tight. Thanks.
