Fronts are two piston. Rears are single piston.

This is across all model years from 2010, to 2019. No matter PP equipped, or not.

Changes that occurred in 2013 were to switch to larger rotors, with vented hats. Silicone boots too.

The PP equipped cars have slightly larger pads with greater contact surface.

This is correct. The boots in the 13+ cars were upgraded, the rotor hat were vented, and the brake pads were upgraded in the front. The PP pads will fit the non pp cars.

Do not listen to a word Karen/Ryan says. He is the village idiot.

they charge extra for the PP so you can idle in the staging lanes. NonPP has to turn the vehicle off so they can outrun the PP. Basically the PP allows you to remote start your vehicle and sleep on it....when you wake up its defrosted and you can drive through congestion. NonPP has to wake up and remote start to defrost.

I think Johnny Law got the same pp engine (top piston ring) so he can idle at a donut shop for 2 hours and then chase ya down.

I have no fear of either PP or nonPP. I'm not sure how fast I'm comfortable going on LT tires but I've been over 150 and I need to upgrade brakes for sure.

VERY timely question! I've been thinking about this myself. I know I've seen the threads discussing this, and I'm SURE I have them saved somewhere... :)

And of course once again, Ryan contribution = ZERO.

Not sure I should leave that last comment in there, but sometimes I can never tell. :D

Actually on the contrary my contribution was to make it very clear to everyone that according to several individuals you can put any Taurus sho brake pads on any taurus sho reguardless of year or pp vs non pp

Stan literally the only thing I've ever seen you post anywhere on here is basically just "yeah your stupid!" or "yeah what they said!" If there's someone thats truly wasting everyones time its you. Atleast I provide entertainment

If you get PP pads get PP rotors with vents. I don't see why PP rotors won't go on all years 2010-2019. But if you put PP pads on non PP rotors it looks like this....see the zinc coating still on the rotor? That's where the PP rotor vents are. I have since put Non PP pads on my non PP rotors so now there's complete rotor to pad contact down to the hats. So dont mismatch stuff.0614201541 HDR

@802......

In theory, yes.

However, the changes between the GEN4 (2010-2012 MY's) versus the GEN5 (2013-2019 MY's) insomuch as simply installing the pads and rotors from the GEN5, back onto the GEN4.....

IIRC (besides other changes not outlined below) the most notable were a change in brackets, and calipers (mere sizing thereof).

Dig around over on EBPF. A couple of members detailed there experiences in the "How-To's" some years ago.

If you can't find 'em, LMK.

So if you use PP pads and rotors, should you use the PP calipers as well? And brackets?
