Hey everybody and SHO lovers. I have a 2015 SHO non PP with 134k and my water pump is failing. I have few upgrades and flashed with South Performance tune.
1- Do you know if there is a better water pump besides the OEM.?
2-there is a better timing Chain kit better than OEM or Cloyes.?
3- since I’m there already should I flush the system to the new motorcraft yellow coolant.?
4- last question in regards of the oil pump which way you guys will go OEM vs melling higher 20% flow with standard 85 psi or 100psi.?

If anyone can help out with some answers and also can I do the oil pump no dropping the whole engine.????

Looking forward to hearing from any SHO brother thank you

I've seen Cloyes have issues. They might have been the only thing available during lockdown times but poke around the interwebs and see if it is enough of a problem to prevent purchase

Regarding the water pump. During 2022, I had cooling issues while racing on the track. I searched the internet for an improved water pump. Meziere Enterprises did not make a water pump for the SHO. Melling makes a replacement pump, not heavy duty, PN MWP-517, with 5-vanes. The OEM part, PN DG1Z-8501-A shows a 7-vane pump. In my experience, working with industrial pumps, I would expect the pump with 7 vanes to provide better performance. When I get to changing out the water pump, it is an expensive job, I'll go with the OEM water pump.
