I looked all over. I was hoping someone had figured a way to plug the opening. I couldn't find anything. At this time I don't want to buy the MKS / Flex part. I didn't want an after-market pipe either. I come up with something similar to the chair leg cap for the BOV- VTA mod. I used a 1-1/2" sewer pipe cap. It's rubber and came with the clamp from Ace hardware for $3.99
Besides the Ace numbers, the part is stamped Pipeconx 1-1/2 plastic or cast iron. It also says made in USA, Evansville Indian so it's gotta work!
I was worried about it holding up to boost preasure. Tested it and got some peak boost at 16lbs with no problems. I was also worried about creating strange airflow dynamics. The air flow may have changed I don't know but performance is same as it ever was. I did notice it was much more quiet inside the cabin which is what I was trying to accomplish. I like the results. I was never fond of the idea of making fake engine noise. It also frees up a little space in engine bay. I'm interested in how it holds up in time with under hood heat. I have the noise maker and screwdriver in the trunk in case this pipe cap blows out.

So instead of buying the $150. pipe, you just capped it off.

From what I read there is a "noise maker" attached to the intake pipe to make noise?
By capping it, it would eliminate that "noise".
Not sure I care about the noise either way, but I like the idea of increasing some open space in the engine compartment.
