I have a 92 mtx that needs the 60k and all that done. i use my vehicle for work. i leave my lights on when taking a delivery hurry back to my car and it cranks very slow but starts.

on my way back from a delivery. I stop at a red light.............my idol stays at 1200 for a second or so after i stop and then drops to 550-600 and i see the red light of doom flickering at me. i get a check engine light for a second or 2 and the idol levels out and the light goes away. i pull up to the shop park and what do i see blinking at me again? the low oil pressure.

i turn the car off check the oil and add a half quart. go to start it up again to see if that helped my problem and it doesnt turn over. so i have another driver give me a jump to see if my battery didnt charge after almost dying and still no crank. it reacts as if i didnt push the clutch in???? is it possible that i siezed the engine from the low oil pressure? or is it definitally a starting issue?

No chance of you having seized the engine if you were only 1/2 quart down. Check the following in the given sequence:

1. battery terminal connectors are on tight.

2. Jump start the car and check the voltage at the battery: should be 14+ volts. If not, the alternator may be shot.

3. Check that the battery cables are on tight at the starter.

4. Charge the battery and see if it gets up to 12+ volts. If not, time for a new battery.

so its a hot start problem? load test the batt. first thing, a bad batt. will ruin a starter. Cranking a starter slow is the worst thing for a starter motor. If you crank a starter motor til' it stops cranking there is a good chance that starter is burned up.

battery is only 6 months old but ill still test it anyways. it wont start again now. I got full power in the car no sign of a dying battery. When i tryed starting it last i could hear the starter slowly turning over sounded more like the starter was the problem. after i test the battery im gonna pull the starter and have that tested also

The Battery leads may be loose on the battery. If you can turn them by hand, they need tightening. Also make sure that the mating surfaces are clean.

Hopefully this isn't a Walmart battery. One in a client car went bad after 2 months.

If you heard the starter motor trying to crank the engine, starter should be OK: it's just not getting enough juice.

It sounds like you may have more than one problem. As others have said, check the voltage across the battery terminals at idle with headlights on. It should be around 14V. The starting issue sounds like it could be a starter on the way out.

i heard the starter motor trying to crank but it didnt sound like a normal starter it sounded like the internal parts of the starter are on a axle that snapped restricting it from turning properly.
