I was working back by the firewall where the heater lines go in and out and thats the only place i was was working in. Any ideas??

you might have made your speedo cable mad.

it comes out on the drivers side into the engine bay, it has one or two places where it might have disconnected

until u fix it, use the RPM and gear to measure aprox. speed

Check the connection between the lower and upper cable. Its not hard to see, you will notice the cable coming out of the firewall. Make sure its connected together. And if it is you can remove the clip and try turning it while a partner watches the speedo to see if it moves. If not you have another connection behind the cluster or the unit itself issue. If it still does you may need to go lower to the lower speedo connection and check out whats going on there.
