just so you know the SHO won't after an extensive overheat because it's heat to oil to the point that it can no longer maintain oil pressure and althoug hI can't tell you exactly why I know the engine will not turn over or run without out adequate oil pressure, just an FYI. Something I learned from having an oil pressure gauge...

My bet is the fuse, also clean the terminal contacts while your in there. Check the intake ground ribbon ground on the firewall side, make sure it's not corroded and for safe measure I would use a wire brush and brush the contact area down on both sides and cover it with dielectric grease after you reconnect it..

i didnt quite understand what he said, i am tired afterall but i thought he said about the car not running without oil pressure?

that is so not true.. rod bearing failures will explain that to you. the reason the light comes on with rod bearings is because the lack of oil pressure will let the oil pressure switch spring break contact at about 3 or 4 psi if i remember correctly.. i dont know of any car engine that can run on that little of oil pressure.

also there has been stories on here i remember about a guy changing rod bearings, then going to the store to grab oil. while he was gone his brother started the oilless car..

also i believe ernie ran his car with no oil a period of time and somehow it survived.
