I just installed a factory radio in my 93 MTX that i know works good, but i can not get any sound from any of my speakers.I tested the radio in my 95 ATX and it worked great.I have checked my amp in the trunk and it also works good and i am getting power from the radio to the amp.The car did not have a radio in it when i bought it so do you think all the speakers are bad? I did have to replace the cable running from the radio to the amp but i have double checked it and it is plugged up.Does anybody have anything else in mind that i might want to check?

No, they had a aftermarket wiring harness that bypassed the amp.If this radio was in a car that had a cd player in it do i need something else to plug into the radio?

First thing i would do is follow all the wiring and make sure everythings hook up right. If that isnt it, hook up the deck but dont install it in the dash and test every speaker wire w/ a good speaker. if the speaker works then its a blown speaker. IMO though, i highley doubt that every speaker in the car is blown. Good luck thumb

Ok i hooked up the radio in my 95 ATX and the radio worked super. My ATX has two amps and the factory subwoofer so is there something else i am missing in my 93 MTX? It has just one amp on the pass side in the trunk with no sub.I am at a loss!

Above the power connection on the back of the radio is a second power connection for the wiring harness that goes to the slave cd. If you're not using the cd wiring harness there should be a black connector plug in it or you won't get any, or much sound at all. This doesn't make much sense though if it works in your 95 unless that has and you're hooking up the cd wiring. I had a similar problem and that was the answer.

I removed the radio and cd player from my 95 and put it in my 93 and nothing.I decided to connect my spare amp i bought off ebay and the problem is solved. Bad amp!I would like to thank everyone who helped me out on this one because it was driving me crazy.By the way if anyone has the black plug that connects into the 6-pin on the back of the radio(IT IS A DUMMY PLUG FOR RADIOS WITH NO SLAVE CD PLAYER CONNECTED)i sure could use one.
