Mike is a real stand-up guy. I usually receive email responses within hours from his crew (even got one from Mike himself within hours after an inquiry). Go to the W Body site listed above and choose "contact us".

I ordered a Fidanza, Taylor wires, and aluminum subframe bushings from them, I paid $130 for next day shipping... I got the Fidanza 1 week later, the Taylor wires 2 weeks later, and the ASFBs 3 weeks later!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was like WTF!! I e-mailed and they sent me back an e-mail about them shipping next day --as soon as they had it-- which defeats the purpose of next day shipping. I already found a few local speed shops that are very helpfull. I don't think I will be a return customer with Midwest.

Susie, I found your email from today and responded to it. I also have another email from January 20th that looks like it got buried and never responded to. I apologize for that.

Directly from our shipping policies page:

Please understand, this is a small community with few cars and few parts available, and we are a small company. Retaining a stock of popular parts is nearly impossible, as there is no product, at least in our case, that stands out as more popular than something else.

For this reason, we do not stock a lot of items, as most SHO vendors don not. We have to order a large majority of items ordered from our website. This makes for longer shipping times than one would be used to from Summit, or from Jegs, or from any other conglomerate that sells parts for very popular cars. We can not compete with that, as the SHO is not a popular car.

We try our best to get orders out no more than 2 days after they are ordered, and for the most part, orders generally follow that premise, but in some cases, we have to order the part, which takes generally 3 - 5 days transit time, then we have to ship it, which generally takes another 2 - 4 days of transit time. So on an item that we have to ship, you have 10 days right there, and that is assuming our warehouse does not have to order it.

I wish we could give you the 2 day turnaround times that we can give some of the bigger markets, but unfortunately we can not, since we obtain our items from so many different sources.

We offer the following advice to those ordering:

* Do not begin work on your car until you have the parts - This ensures you will not have your vehicle apart and inoperable, waiting on the arrival of one part

* Select ONLY the Ground or Standard (Canada) shipping options on the checkout page - If you select two day shipping, you are paying for two day shipping on a part we may not have in stock. If you need quicker shipping, feel free to email us first and ask us if we have it in stock. That way you are not wasting money on quicker shipping options.

We have no set shipping dates. We now ship on any business day, so long as there is something to go out. When your package is shipped, you will receive a UPS or Fed Ex tracking number from us. We will try to be as upfront as possible about ordering times.

Mike's post contains a lot of very helpful information for anyone ordering anything from anyone online.

Unless you're ordering from some huge well-known company (Summit, Jegs, Tire Rack, Best Buy, Sears, etc.), it's always best to check with the vendor first to make sure the item is in-stock and available, and especially how long it will take for an item to ship.

If an item won't ship for 3-4 days after you order it, "overnight shipping" may still mean it will be 5 to 7 days (in the case of weekends) before it actually arrives at your door.

People often don't read the fine print detailing the shipping policies until it's too late. Read it thoroughly first, and ask any questions before placing your order. That will make for much more pleasant online shopping experiences! :thumb:

I got my exhaust stuff in a timely manner from Mike. No, it's not Summit next day, but after reading the policies page, I knew that going in. No complaints! Good luck on your new venture(s) Mike! When I break something else, I'll get a hold of ya...
