So, I was pretty much a ghost on here this season...a **** ton has gone down in Kevin81 land. Got promoted, had my mom move in with me, took full custody now of my 7 year old nephew, bought a new house....basically, I've not spent a single night with my girl. (the SHO) And winter is coming. On the plus side, I have a 2 car garage...with nice, proper, smooth concrete floor...no more rough chunky black top and gravel on my poor abused knees.

So....gotta start nailing down my plans for next summer. After talking to some of you about the next steps for powa, I'm leaning towards the gearhead IC, and HPFP. Still no E85 in this state, so I gotta find ways to go faster on 93 octane only. But...those 2 are not cheap, so that's about ALL I would be doing next year...and I still have to figure out how to square it with the wife. Possibly bribe her with a nice dining room set. (off face book market place, but tell her its new).

But going fast aside....I also kinda want to improve the looks of this car. So, 1 thing I'm already starting, since it's fairly cool out now, is plasti dipping all the chrome. American automakers need to get it through their thick skulls that chrome *****. Nobody likes that **** anymore.

I'd love to get a different hood, but the only one I've seen is...kinda over the top. And I'd LOVE to get a better spoiler, a nice, understated duck tale, like you see on so many BMWs and Audis.

And new wheels....well, that's gonna be yet another year...2+K on the go fast bits is about all I can do in one season, without castration, I think.

@aaron240 has some hood louvers that you can install to change the complete look of the hood. I’m with on the chrome, I just bought an F250 and it has all this chrome trim that I don’t like same with the SHO my plan is to tint all the chrome on both my f250 and SHO. Our Explorer ST was sold from Ford all blacked out and I love it!

Hood louvers, you say? How are they installed? Are they cut outs?

I am a Race Louvers vendor and helped develop the SHO specific hood vent kit seen on my personal SHO. For more information please visit my company website at https://schwartzep.com/hood-louvers-kit or feel free to message me with any additional questions.
Those look pretty sick...

AND they're functional? How idiot proof is the install. It says it comes with a stencel...which means cutting. With what, a Dremil? Never done anything like that before.

Yes sir they are functional. You need a tape measure, a drill, a jigsaw, rivet gun, masking tape, a marker, and a drop cloth. The hood doesn’t come off the car during the install, my dad and I completed the install in 3 hours start to finish. The install isn’t bad at all, no dremel is required.
