Haven’t posted here in awhile but I have some thoughts on this car I wanted to share. I sold my wrx sti over a year ago and was looking for an awd performance car that was a more practical daily driver. I stumbled across a low mileage 2010 Taurus sho and knew what they were but didn’t know everything about them. So I bought it sort of on a whim because I was fed up with wrx problems. Looking back I wish I would’ve gone for a clean 2013+ PP version because I prefer the looks of the facelift versions as well as the ability to turn off stability control in the menu. Preferences aside I do like the car it’s a very nice daily driver and has plenty of power for the street and has plenty of space and does everything well. It lacks character compared to the STI being significantly heavier and having a mediocre automatic transmission but is a lot more refined and comfortable. Cost of ownership hasn’t been nearly as terrible as STI however I did need replace injectors and fuel parts which was quite expensive. The previous owner did neglect some maintenance which ended up causing some small issues. As of right now I put 10k miles on it so far and did some modifications (exhaust and CAI) and it’s been pretty nice to live with. My biggest annoyance with the car is being a non PP so I can’t turn off stability control without pulling a fuse and the haldex in my car doesn’t seem to be fan of doing donuts/sliding in snow. I live in an area that gets a good amount of snow and it sucks a lot of the fun out of my daily driving in winter. Overall it’s a nice car that goes fast so there’s not to much to complain about. If I could do it over again I would’ve done more research into the different spec options and differences in year models before buying one. Not sure how long I’m going to own this car I do miss owning something lightweight and manual. As of right now I don’t have any plans to get rid of this car.
