Hello to all!

I had to drive from San Francisco to L.A. with no heat over the Thanksgiving holiday in my Gen I black SHO. 31 degrees--outside temp-- had me pretty frosty by the trips end. The buttons all seem to work fine in redirecting flow, say from floor to panel to defroster. But I get NO HEAT at all--- despite what temp I dial in, ot combination of settings I try on the control unit. Is there a specific sensor that may be bad, or am I facing having to replace the entire control unit? Secondly-- in the moist, and cold mornings that have just started here in the Bay area, every morning I have to pump the clutch pedal hard to the floor maybe a dozen times before the starter will engage with the column switch held in the start position. After that initial morning start-- the car starts on first try any other time of the day. Where is this lock-out switch located that prevents one from starting the car with it in gear?. On the positive side, the car is running great, and averaged 28 mpg @ 80-85 mph to L.A. --where I made it on one tank of gas. Those that helped me through my high NOX problem a few months ago are thanked again. This car with 135K, a 80mm MAF, chip w/LPM, cold air intake, f&r strut braces, external adjustable Koni's, Eibachs, and other mods--- cost me $390 to pry away from a prior unappreciating owner. Easily the best "bang for the buck" I've had the good fortune to stumble over lately.

Regards,

Mike McLaughlin

For your first issue, run the ETAC self test (see the FAQs at www.shotimes.com). Most likely you will get an "02" error which is most often the BDA (Blend Door Actuator) (SEARCH keyword "BDA" or "Blend Door Actuator"

The clutch interlock switch is on the clutch pedal (SEARCH keyword "clutch interlock switch""

The note in my signature applies to these issues also.
