Today, merging on the highway, i took it up to about 5500 rpms, shifted to 4th and then casually put it in 5th, took my foot off the gas and the shifter moved, like it popped into neutral, so i grabed the shifter and tried to put it into 5th and i could move the shifter wherever i wanted to, there was nothing there, the car is stuck in 5th gear, luckly i could get off the highway and get to a parking lot to let it sit.

I did a search and found something about a stabalizer bar and a bolt and a little black box but this is my first MTX sho, Can anybody please help me, i am/was Indy bound. Thanks in advance!!

I bet part of your linkage broke. Look under the car and check it out/

Look where you shifter goes into the tranny and where it comes out underneath the car. I bet one of those bolts came loose/off.

You probably wont have to replace a linkage...I doubt you could shift it that hard to break one of those bars.

I've got a 92 that did the same thing. The problem is inside of the black box. The shifter has broken where it attaches to the shifter rod. Just take the whole shifter assem. out of the vehicle, take the box apart and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's not a hard job maybe an hour in and out. Take the broken pieces and have someone weld it up. Note: make sure to pack the black box with heavy wheel brg grease when you put it all back together!!! Later.

If the boss on the trans broke I can send you a bracket to connect to the trans for that part. It's a pretty simple install and while it won't hold up to power shifts, it would get you to Indy and back. If you end up needing it let me know as soon as possible, all my parts are in 3 different spots right now because my garage floor is supposed to get fixed. Needless to say things are not organized at all and I might need a day or so to find it.

Sounds like a broken or stripped Transmission boss where the stabilizer rod attaches. The same thing happened to me on my 92.

Take Bizzy up on her offer or contact Jose and see if he has any of the boss braces left. You could also try getting a longer bolt or installing a helicoil if just the threads have stripped out.
