Just getting out of work now and I go to get in my car and go home and I notice a puddle under the car. Driver's side rear. I do a little investigating and it's brake fluid. I start the car and there's no pressure on the brake pedal. I check the master cylinder and it's empty. I just now realized that I don't have a tire iron in the trunk, so I get to wait for the tow truck to come pick it up and get it home so I can figure it out from there. fml :fit:

brakes

If the puddle was by the driver side rear tire make sure you check the rubber hose that attaches to the brake caliper. This part is very easy to replace and only costs like 14 bucks at autozone. that'd be my first guess.

The rubber hoses going to the calipers were replaced a few months ago by the PO. Did some investigating and it's on of the steel lines going to the back of the car. All the lines look a little corroded so I just got done pulling them out. Heading to the parts store to get some line so hopefully I can have it back on the road this afternoon.

Are you going to patch the lines, or make new ones?

Made new ones. Got pulled away before I could finish though. Tomorrow morning when I get home from work I have to finish the line that goes from the abs controller to the passenger's side and then fill it up and bleed them out.

Ok, so I've been working on the lines whenever I have a few minutes here and there. The question I have though, is about flaring the ends of the lines for the fittings. I think there was one or maybe two ends that were double flared. The rest are the opposite. I rented the double flaring tool from my local parts store, which is a 2 step process (hence - double flare. lol). If I only do the first step it looks like the rest of the flares that I need to make. Is this correct or do I need to do something different?

If this is not correct, what's the easiest way to get the lines flared so I can put it all back together?

I ended up using a double flare tool and used adapters to get my bubble flares. You can get them and O'Reilly and Napa, but I found out they're much cheaper at O'Reilly though.
