I'll preface this by saying I really know very little about this car. I know how special these SHOs are, and am sort of sentimental towards them since I spent a lot of my childhood around my uncle's '89. That being said, this car was actually on its way to the junkyard when I saved it back in April of 2015. I drove it for a few days intent on making repairs, but life quickly took a turn, and it's been sitting parked at a friend's complex ever since. I check up on it every now and then, but have not taken it around the block or started it since January. Honestly, I've never even looked under the car. I am incredibly forgetful, but I'll do my best to describe the car accurately.

  • Engine always started up and ran well. Made no abnormal noises, seemed to have all its power. Battery is likely dead now.
  • Clutch does not fully disengage, transmission is very difficult to shift. Engine must be off to select first or reverse gears. Previous owner was a young guy that did not take good care of the car - he claimed to have replaced the clutch in the last few thousand miles but said he did not change the throw out bearing. He resorted to smashing it into first and reverse and driving it as-is. Clutch and pedal do feel OK - no slipping.
  • Key is a duplicate and works in the ignition, but not in either of the front doors - do not remember if it opens the trunk. Power locks work, but the front passenger door doesn't lock at all.
  • Headliner is covered in pink cheetah print fabric lol
  • Aftermarket stereo head unit that is not wired up.
  • Rear struts are blown - the tail bounces wildly and the struts bang around, loudly.
  • Front end feels very good - previous owner claimed to have installed new struts, control arms, bushings, etc.
  • MASSIVE rust hole in the right rear wheel well, seen when that door is opened. Rockers are rotten as well. Body is so-so... rear left corner took a hit at some point. Broken outer left tail light and panel beneath it. Left side of rear bumper is hanging.
  • Cruise control actuator missing
  • EATC replaced with newer "hard button" unit. Air conditioning does not work (if I recall correctly).
  • Exhaust is trash. Mismatched mufflers that hang hilariously low.

That's all I can remember so far. I do have some pics from last April, though hopefully I'll have some updated/detailed ones soon. Car hasn't changed. I don't want it to go to the junkyard, and I'm in no shape to make good use of it myself. I'd rather she benefit the SHO community, either through parts or just being driven. Asking $500 - accepting offers from those who are interested.

Thanks,
Mark

Hate to say it, but I will be scrapping this car if it's not sold by Thursday. Unable to part it out and will be moving out-of-state this Friday, May 6.

I have been able to hold onto the car.
Updated first post with a picture, price, and link to Google album of more pictures. I've neglected to take any recent photos - will hopefully have some soon.
