does anybody on here know anything about the ZEX nitrous kit for the ATX SHO??? ....from what I read on SHOsource you can run it with a stock SHO but they only recommend you use high pressure lines and possibly a better fuel pump I have a 95 ATX and I was thinking of adding all the bolt ons and a programmed chip and then hook up the bottle

On a well maintained sho all you really need is a 155lph fuel pump to make sure you can keep up the fuel pressure. There is also a switch that you can pull that will pull some timing to help with any detonation issues (not sure exactly where it is located). The engine should handle it fine. With an ATX the trans may be an issue though. Some of the atx guys may have a few pointers on that.

the trans will handle a 75 shot without a problem. bluto ran a 75 or a 100 shot for 3 years and 25 bottles before his trans went. it also had nearly 150K on it so it was about time anyway.

You can use a tweecer to quicken the shifts to extend the life of you trans as well as make you faster.

a 75 shot will not damage the motor. especially if it has been maintained. just make sure you get a dry kit and not a wet kit.

btw where in philly are you?

^yeah,I'd do that too.
You should be fine provided you take the necessary steps to facilitate N20.
If you are a broke college student wanting to spray your only car then I recommend against it.

Are you talking about the SPOUT? That would be the WRONG way to pull timing.

But that is when you are most driven to do fun things!

No, I think he is not. He is probably referring to the octane adjust shorting bar.

Yeah, that's what I ment...... just couldn't remember what it was called. In my searching some say to use it for sure while others say your fine on stock timing. My thought is always better safe then sorry.

Good to know. You are running a 75 shot, right?

There are a few sho's running a 75 shot with out pulling timing. Just make sure you have a good fuel punp, and 1 step colder plugs.

I ran a 100 shot on my 93' MTX for awhile. I just ran a stage cold copper plugs as stated before with a new stock 155 lph fuel pump. I had absolutely no issues engine-wise and ran quite a number of bottles through it. The diff on the other hand didn't hold up about 4 times. I will be investing in quaifie or wavetracski before venturing into any more nitrous thrills again.
