NEWStage 3 clutch **Sliping**??????

Well got it all back together. drove it for about 200 miles and now I am starting to hear things comming from the tranny. radles,knocks. and then this morning I was on my way across town and i was in 5th gear at about 55 and went to hit the gas and woooooom up the rpm went and it was slipping.????? Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? :rant:

half-way there, I think.
Two things come to mind. First did you torque the pressure plate down? Secondly, did you install the friction disc correctly, it only goes in one way.

And did you by chance get any oil or grease on the disc itself.

I'll add did you have the flywheel resurfaced, and did you follow proper break-in procedures?

P.S. Whose "Stage 3" clutch did you install?

you should drive the car normal for the first 300+miles to bed in the disc then it will hold. that means no heavy rpm pulls. I installed a centerforce that slipped over 100 in 3rd with 150miles on it. after 300 mi easy break in it held up to major abuse and never slips. I had it out after 20000 mi and was in prefect condition. As for the noises- good luck.
