Sonnax manufactures and distributes parts and kits for transmission rebuilders. They DO NOT sell retail. Their parts and kits are available through automotive parts stores and parts wholesalers. Transworld Industries, Inc. is one business that sells Sonnax parts and kits both at the wholesale and retail levels.

Sonnax makes some parts that are intended to save the transmission case and/or the valve body. Say for example the trans case has a worn or damaged accumulator bore. Sonnax has a kit that contains a sleeve that will fit in the worn or damaged bore, and a new accumulator piston that fits in the sleeve so that the trans case is reusable, and therefore rebuildable. The transfluid will be stopped from leaking around the accumulator piston and causing shift problems.

They provide similar "fixes" for the valve body. Some of their kits are intended to "up-grade" the OEM trans and improve the performance of the trans. This is a U.S. company and most of the products are "Made in the U.S.A.", or Canada. Considering the aftermarket crap that is coming from China, this is a big, BIG, plus for me.

Again, you cannot buy direct from Sonnax. However, their web site is most informative because they describe the symptoms of a specific trans problem, and the "fix" for the problem. The information is transmission specific whether it is a Ford AXOD or a Chrysler 41TE transmission.

One of the distributors of Sonnax parts and kits is Transworld Industries Inc. Transword also sells rebuild (overhaul) kits for transmissions. They have various kits froms seal kits, friction disk kits, minor overhaul kits, complete overhaul kits, and performance kits (and a whole lot more). Their kits and parts are also sold through retail auto parts stores (Certified, Car-Quest, NAPA, Auto Zone, ETC.).

Again most of their stuff is "Made in the U.S.A." or at least in North America. Many of their parts are obtained from the original OEM manufacturer as are the parts Sonnax buys rather than manufacture.

I have used the above products and have had excellent results. I DO NOT have any association with either company other than as a customer or user of their products. If you buy the parts from a dealership you will pay a whole lot more and are not getting any better quality.

My 95 atx's tranny went and its now at AAMCO, a very reputible tranny place here in birmingham. Great Warranty also. they cover the whole tranny and labor if they touch it. Which means if the tranny goes out for any reason after they rebuild it, they rebuild it again or reaplace for free with no labor or parts cost.
