Sorry for the delay, I had only half assed the resonator install until I knew it was going to make a difference. Now that I have it properly installed I can try to get a recording, tho I do not have a before audio to compare to the after so not sure how much it will help you. I always find videos of exhaust sounds difficult to gauge off of because of the variables. In a garage vs outside, recording device, closeness to the vehicle, all play a role in the sound the viewer hears but could be vastly different in person. That said, if I can make a video where would you like it taken from? Inside the car on the highway, under acceleration from a stop, from outside the car while giving it some rpms, or at startup? Soooo many options lol.
My biggest issue is the floating of the pedal to stay at speed causing the drone.

ok, so what speed range we talking? I will try getting a sound clip from inside the car cabin at the speed you are looking for. I can say the downside of cutting back on the drone is I can now hear a wheel bearing at the early stages of going bad. Couldnt hear that before the resonator lol.

Just tell me the drone level, sounds to me like it's mostly gone?

Ok so last night I was paying attention to drone and rpm ranges. At 1950 rpm, approx 80mph on a flat highway, very quiet no drone whatsoever. The drone starts to pick up at about 2250rpm and then is gone again at about 2600rpm. When I say the drone picks up again I mean it is noticeable but nothing in comparison to before the resonator. Some caveats: In lower rpm ranges under load like climbing hills there will be drone at times. Also with the gearing of the 2010, it loves to shift into 6th once over 55mph. But then when you slow down to 45 it doesnt downshift unless you give it a little extra. That said, in 6th gear at 45mph trying to give it just a little bit of gas to accel just a tad it is drony. thats at about 1350rpm in 6th. So to sum up, accelerating through the 2250-2600 rpm range there with be drone and load conditions will effect other rpm ranges. But as far as my normal cruising speeds in most situations perfectly quiet in the cabin. Keep in mind I have some flowmaster mufflers on this thing of unknown model. Different mufflers may get you different results.

Thank you for that explanation, I am using 2 flow master bottle resonators - then two straight thru magnaflow mufflers. So I imagine still getting drone, however getting rid of those lavaflow bottles - I am hoping the noise those create will me mhffled better in the magnaflow Xpipe resonator. Thanks for this!

No problem, hope whatever you choose to do works out for you. Exhaust system are a finicky beast.

No moderate sound - just loud when i get on it, and generate drone for sure... will be glad to try out the Magnaflow.

Ah yea, those dont look like they have a tone of muffling capabilities lol. The flow master mufflers on mine are the more conventional rectangle suitcase shape.

liked the thought of not adding more water possibilities to that equation.

So I had an injector go on me, stuck open. I pulled the intake and the rails, going to change all 6. They are all the same age and about 110k miles. While waiting on those injectors I decided to take the time to work on these. Got 3 done 3 more to go, only took before and afters of 2. Anyone wanna finish them for me?

So I stood strong for maybe 6 months... But alas I have given in, even tho I am keeping her pretty much stock and a daily driver I was hearing to many positives about Gear Head tuning. So I went ahead and ordered their kit. SCT tuner, colder plugs, 3 bar MAP, and 2 tunes (93 and 87). Received the kit last week but there are away on vacation so will be another week before I get it all setup probably. Only thing that threw me through a loop is that they say on their site they cannot ship or work with California and then I received my SCT from them and it was part number 7015PEO. When I hooked it up to my car to maybe install one of SCT's tunes in the meantime I was given the "not supported" response. Contacted SCT and was told that the 7015PEO is a California device so comes with no tunes and if I wanted their tunes I would need their 7015 Model. I reached out the Gear Head just to note this development. They actually got back to me a few day later even tho they are out of office to tell me that the unit will have no issue programming my vehicle. I have no doubts that it will program the car, just wonder if I am shooting myself in the foot having a 7015PEO as I have no SCT tunes available to me. Now from what I hear mostly is that SCT's tunes are no prize and makes me feel like I should not worry about them on this platform or any future platforms I might own that would have tunes available from them in a standard 7015 model. But that said, its not like the 7015PEO unit was discounted for having no SCT tunes in it, was still a full priced unit. Anyone have thoughts on SCT tunes and if I should even be putting this much thought into this? lol

Crap crap crap, just worry about getting a tune from GH. I had a Diablo canned tune, tuner years back, broke my transmission... Period. Work with a reputable tuner and a device that works. That's it.

Thats pretty much what I have told myself, but its nice to hear it from others too lol. Thanks for that quick reply too, did you ever get your Xpipe resonator installed?

I mean I could. Not liking the idea of throwing the 200$ in the trash just yet. Going to try calling them after their lunch break. Which I'm assuming is 12-1.

I see I never updated this after getting my GH tune files, With the replacement tuner after finding out the first one I received was defective everything loaded up like it was supposed too. Definitely was a worth while investment getting that tune even with a mostly stock vehicle. Definitely woke her up.

On another note, the exhaust note that is, I had to quiet her down. The exhaust system on this car was so hacked up from the previous owner that I pretty much have redone the whole thing now. They had cut out the 3rd cat and the resonator and put some flowmaster mufflers on it. There was such a raspy rattly noise from it originally that I added that crossover resonator we spoke of in this thread which helped a lot and took away they raspy rattle sound. But alas the drone that was left eventually got the better of me. There were certain rpm and load ranges where I really didnt mind the sound but in my most often traveled speed and load ranges it was just too annoying for me. So in the end I now still have the resonator I installed but I cut out the flowmasters mufflers and replaced them with Walker 17613 mufflers. She is much nicer to drive now and while I do miss some of the exhaust noise I do not mind hearing the turbos and blowoff valves, maybe adding an intake will give me a little more of that sport sound if I feel I need it.

glad to heat your results. I still haven't done the x-over pipe. I still need to do this. thanks for the Walker muffler suggestion as well.
