New owner of a 92 SHO. was my brothers before, he joined military and left it for my dad to fix up. motor is newly rebuilt, brand new clutch, pressure plate and flywheel, all new suspension, and a custom 2.5 inch exhaust, from what i can remember. car runs perfect and sounds great. a friend of mine who used to own a couple SHO's was getting rid of all his parts and i grabbed most of it up. i have a couple mods i want to do to the car now, but not knowing much about these cars i want to see what members of this board think about what i want to do.

92 mtx
3.2 ported intake manifold
80mm TB with MAF
custom (homemade) CAI
3.2 injectors
big bore butterflies
Y pipe
TRE stage 2 spec clutch
TRE billet aluminum flywheel
tune

again most of these parts are just sitting in my garage right now waiting to go on, but i want to know how much of a difference this is going to make and how much of a pain in the ass its going to be before i jump into this.

i've never seen an 80mm throttle body, but to run that MAF, you need to be tuned. also, the CAI is useless unless you're just looking to add noise...the stock airbox works perfectly fine for mild bolt-ons. as for the 3.2 intake, i see you're in cali, so your car should already be fitted with an EGR valve...which is pretty much the only diff between the two intakes.

One word.....TURBO. It's IMHO the only mod for more horsepower that is worth the money. Here's my thought on your mod list....save the money. You're list tells me you want more fuel and air into the motor. That's a good start - however , in general the sho motor doesn't have many bottlenecks at all. If you have an MTX get a better y-pipe.

When you hit the gas the tps sends a a voltage to the ecu - which says ok we need more gas. It says we have X - CFM of air flowing into the motor so we need X amount of fuel to burn with it. But - like I said the air the motor can get isn't really restricted so - your bigger injectors won't help because the car won't be sucking in enough air to use anymore fuel than the stock injectors can use. That's where turbo comes in - it crams massive amounts of air into the motor and then it will use much more fuel to burn with all of that air. Sooo --- save your money and just get a turbo and a better y-pipe. Good luck.

here's a thought...don't spend the money on all that stuff for mild gains, buy a pretty purple bottle for your trunk and give it a healthy dose of giggle gas instead.
