After a few months of listening to my blown to **** stock sub (JBL of course) , I want to replace it with an aftermarket amp and subwoofer. I read somewhere on here that the factory amps use a 5v turn on, which I guess I could get around with some weird relay work, but I've also read that they do use the normal 12v switch, does anyone know which it is?
Also, is the audio signal going into the factory sub amp already bypassed? If so, should I use that cut-off, or tap into the other speaker's signal and use my own cutoff?
Sorry for all the questions, I mean, I know the basics, like I have to run the power cable direct from the battery, and I'm going to make a box to (roughly) fit in the factory location, I just want to know how much work I'm getting in for before I buy everything.
