So I replaced the OEM Premium Sound with a new Alpine stereo. I now notice that the volume control near the steering wheel will no longer control the volume. Is this normal? Anyway to link the volume control to the new stereo? Right now my antenna mast is broken off at the base. Once I get it replaced is the new stereo going to interfere with it working? Thanks in advance

Yes it's normal. There are adapters to make them work, as long as your head unit has a wired remote input (if it,s new it should). The antenna will work fine, as long as you wired it in with the headunit harness. Some head units have it up all the time that the key is on, better HU will actually retract it when you're not using the radio. I personally just replaced mine with a standard mast because the replacement power mast I bought broke within a year.

Alpine HU's are pretty decent and as long as it is wired right should raise and lower the antenna. Also, if wired correctly, may dim with your dimmer switch. My volume on the dash doesn't work at all and I still use the factory head units (tape and CD).
