It cost me $600 to get the lisense plate bracket painted, the emblem removed and filled, the spoilers swapped and I had a hole that needed to be repaired on my bumper so all in all it wasnt a horrible price but they wanted almost $4500 to do what I wanted with the car and that wasnt even a color change.

wow thats a hunk of change, but it looks good .

what color would you change it to btw if you were going to ?

I was lucky enough to find a prepainted license bracket from Torrie (FastPartsNetwork) when I finally got around to addressing that recently

I think I am going to leave it the same color but I might add a pearl of some color in it when I get it painted again. I want to shave all the door handles the antenna and gas cap and maybe the side molding when I get back to the states but the cost of that over here would be out of the question....it will just have to wait.

I looked for a lisence plate bracket that was already painted for about a 1.5 years and never found one...so I just got one from ford and had it painted. It would have been SO much cheaper if i could have found one....good find!

i still have the front plate bracket in the trunk. it is brand new and never been mounted. i never felt like putting the front license plate on since it looks better without one

oh I'll agree with you there, but in VA we are a two tage state so its required. and the Ford bracket atleast contours to the car alot better than the temporary one I had on there.

I like it

thanks hobo.

once again I've just always wondered what the skateboard adds to the car. like the V8 badges, I just don't care for em all that much, its not a hate thing its just a slight annoyance. and this car is a sleeper after all, I like the idea of making it harder for the general public to distinguish what that rumbling menace was that just passed them was , hahahahahaha

and ofcourse its cheaper to take away elements than to add :):thumb:
still , the spoiler is back on for today

Nik97 , if you read this what did you do to remove the marks left by the spolier that hasn't been touched since '98 when it came from the factory ? any particular product ? I know yours is back on for now, but in some of your pics I don't remember seeing anything obvious excpet the holes themselves.

I have heard of these fill plugs , thought maybe I could touch up paint them white, plug the holes until I get around to body and paint work ??

Crix,

That looks *****, It's funny 'cause you see SLO's all the time with out spoilers and think nothing of it. But I guess knowing it's a SHO and knowing and seeing a spoiler there makes it look odd for some reason. It looks good though, run it w/o for a couple of weeks see if it grows on you.

Peace
Robb

Your a GIII guy right?.... The heads are yamaha... so wouldnt it be yamaha's fault? Or did ford attach the sprockets?

One of the design requirements was that Yamaha had to use Ford's cams, lobes, sprockets and vavles. This was to save on weight, manufacturing cost and engineering time. So I think Yamaha should not be at fault for this "oops" by Ford...

Chris, do you want to trade cars? Your'e car looks good without the boomerang. I decided that there are a few more important things to worry about at this point than the spoiler. What Jason has done was what I was planning to do but just never looked into it. I'm glad he did tho because that looks "Gangster".

I'm not a big fan of the wingless SHO. The skateboard has grown on me and I think the ***** rear of the Taurus/SHO is just ugly. Chris your paint looks real good though!

The cams were made in Danville, Illinois for Ford to Ford's specs.

The removed Ford badge looks really good, though! I am waiting for someone to rearend me so I have an excuse to get it removed and the holes filled in. Im sure it would look really clean back there, especially with the debadged SHO badges.

Cost me $50 to get the trunk lock shaved and the light bar painted.

Hmm, that sounds kinda tempting. I never really thought about how much it might have cost to get the holes filled in from the SHO badges because that just got thrown in from when I got rearended last time.

hey I might be running it on the dragstrip this Fri night, I've never done it before but my buddy is trying to get me to enter. maybe I should take off the spoiler for weight reduction

the trunk certainly opens much snappier w/o the weight :)

Thanks Nick....I remember seeing the section on V8sho.com and thought it would look better. Plus the skateboard had seen better days and the paint on it was fading...so it needed something...I'm just glad I liked the way it turned out.
