I changed out the front turn lamps to a white bulb and FINALLY got a front liscense plate bracket on. I had the Ford emblem removed and I went with a SLO spoiler...I never have cared much for the SHO "skateboard"....I like it much better. Here are some pics.

hey whats up Jason , looks good. I'm sure you'll get a bunch of flack from people but I like diversity , its different.

what kind of mesh did you end up using ? I got some real flimsy stuff but I don't think its worth my time to install , I feel like its too brittle. right now I just have the opening which I think looks pretty good by itself but theres something I want to attach there so I need some heavier gauge mesh I think

I also was thinking about removing the spoiler altogether

I like the missing emblem from the rear :thumb:

Thanks for the comments...Yea I figure there will be some people looking down at it. I used a mesh kit that I got here in Italy and it is pretty sturdy actually. I wouldnt try it until you get a heavier gauge but I like the way it looks with it. I wasnt sure if I liked the rear emblem off at first but now that i have gotten use to it, it is a whole lot cleaner back there... I guess I get to start my stereo soon, I have been avoiding if for too long:smash: Thanks again bro...I cant wait to see how yours turns out too.....

The holes in the SHO spoiler are pretty big. I had them lead filled, then body filled and painted...the same was done to the holes from the Ford Emblem... I wouldnt have been impossible to get a entire trunk lid sent over here and it actually make it in good conditon. Not to mention there is only about 5 tauruses around here. Thanks for the comments guys.

I'm not a big fan of the SLO spoiler but if you like it more power to ya. :thumb:

The removed Ford badge looks really good, though! I am waiting for someone to rearend me so I have an excuse to get it removed and the holes filled in. Im sure it would look really clean back there, especially with the debadged SHO badges.

i wonder what the downforce capabilites are on that spoiler. I know that the stock sho spoiler had a decent amount of downforce... and was wind tunnel tested, or something along the lines of that. I wonder if the same goes for that one...

I somehow doubt it as Ford put function over form in the creation of the SHO spoiler including extensive wind tunnel testing. Something tells me that had the SLO spoiler been more effective than the SHO spoiler, the SLO spoiler would have gone on the SHO.

hey Jason does your trunk key work ? I was thinking if you went that far if you might be into removing the lock altogether and plugging and repaintind like you did for the spoiler. my key doesn't work so I just plugged it with a tiny v8 pin but yours looks so clean now how about a shaved lock

just a thought....

also, did you have the entire lid painted or just touched up ? do you have a good body shop or did you do it yourself ? just curious......

Yea I was going to fill the lock in too but the American Dollar isnt doing very well right now compared to the Euro rate so I am going to wait until I get back to the states to actually do what I want with the car. There is a good body shop around here but the prices reflect it. It cost me $600 to get the lisense plate bracket painted, the emblem removed and filled, the spoilers swapped and I had a hole that needed to be repaired on my bumper so all in all it wasnt a horrible price but they wanted almost $4500 to do what I wanted with the car and that wasnt even a color change. The entire trunk lid was painted as well as the rear bumper...they did a lot of touch ups too which was awesome! All and all I am very happy with the results.
