I am a new member, so I want to start off by saying thank you in advance To anyone who can help. I recently purchased a clean 95 auto with 134k. This is my 3rd SHO. First off, the battery light was on. I checked voltage and it was 15.5 at idle. Replaced alternator and that took care of the problem. Next day the car ran hot. It had a frozen fan. Fixed that. 2 days later I drove it to work and home, about 100 miles, and had no trouble. 2 hours later went out to the car and it would not start. It just cranked and sputtered. Finally got it started, but no tack. Pulled codes and got a 212 and 214 in memory. So I replaced the crank sensor. I erased the cade and have been driving it all day, and no codes. It comes up 111, and 111 in memory. BUT now I have a miss at idle.(witch was there before) And I can not figure it out. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks again.

Start by pulling out the front bank plug wires and look to see if the plugs are drowning in oil.

Welcome to the forum! :D

I did check the front three plugs today, and they had very minimal oil on them.???? I might add that it does not miss all the time, some times it runs great, others???????

The 214 code would point to the cam sensor. Check it's connector for corrosion or looseness. IIRC it's about $20-30 from Autozone, Wells part #F134.

Where is the cam sensor located? I saw another post with the wells part number f134 on it, so I went to buy it yesterday and they told me that was not for my car. We even went out to the SHO and looked everywhere and came up with nothing. The f134 was a round sensor. Thanks again

Yes, a hollow round sensor, that is the right one. It is right above the PS pump next to the passenger strut tower on the end of the rear head. It measure's were the rear most cam is positioned. So, look at the end of the head there and you will see the sensor there connected with 2 screws and one plug on the top.

If you folks will re-read his original post, you'll see that he's already resolved the 211 and 214 codes, and the problem now is he's trying to isolate a misfire.

shofear3, since you found some oil on the front plugs, I'd recommend checking the rear plugs now too. All it takes is one plug well filled with oil to cause a problematic miss.

Update: Today i drove the SHO to work again and on the way home the check engine light came on again. i ran the codes and got 214 again. Must be the cam sensor? I am going to replace it tonight. Maybe that is also the cause of the miss?

Change the remaining plugs if you haven't already. The cam sensor tells the EEC where #1 cyl. TDC is.

The cam sensor fixed it. Now I need a set of springs for the front, if anyone has any they want to sell, let me know.
