Just installed a new iac on my 95 sho.was told that was probably the stalling and no idle woes.Still wont idle unless I hold the throttle slightly open.If I let off the throttle slowly the engine slows down to about 400 rpm or so then quits. The actron code reader shows no codes at all. 60 k is done.new cam p.s. crank p.s.timing belt, egr ports cleaned, egr press.feedback sensor and many others.the car runs super ,but just wont idle. Its driving me nuts!! Thanks Richard

I think you have a vaccum leak from where the intake seats on the heads. Mine does the same sort of thing but not as bad. I think a new set of steel intake to head gaskets will clear it up.
Could also be a dirty MAF.

thanks to y'all for replying. Steve, I havent done the koer test yet, I will try to get it done tomorrow morn. Doug,By resetting the idle do you mean disconnecting the battery and then restarting the car?I belive thats the way sdpatt said how to do it.Doc Evil,It is possible that those metal gaskets are leaking. I didnt replace them when I did the egr port cleaning. From reading a previous post it said they could be reused again if they werent damaged,or the coating cracked,so I used them again.Weird thing is it was running fine when this problem started.Guess the old saying is true. they run the best right before they let go. Interesting problem. I would check:

Fuel Pressure
TPS Voltage
Clean the MAF
Reset the Computer
Run KOER and Cyl. Balance tests

Hopefully one of them will point you to an answer.
