I have a 1990 SHO, stock sound system.
Some of you may remember a topic on SHOCal about me replacing my entire interior with the black leather interior... Well that's done (and beautiful, i might add) but i pulled out the stock tape player/radio, as I'll be replacing it with this:

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=300&i=500CDA9886&c=3&tp=5684&avf=N

I'm in the navy and need to get this put in while i'm home on leave, so i dont really have time to play around with the system and see what works. What exactly (of the stock jbl system, no sub) will i need to remove/bypass? Or will it work fine if i just hook it up in the dash?

thanks a lot

In a 1990, I think all you'll need is the amp bypass cable for the amp in the trunk, and the dash harness.

you can undo the connectors on the left side of the radio opening and plug them in there, that way you bypass the whole amp circut, better, cleaner sound

if you use the connectors in the drivers side of the opening, attached to one of the braces, you do not need the amp bypass kit, because it bypasses that whole harness.

Well if you are actually buying from crutchfield none of this matters becuase they include the harness and special radio removal tool. Otherwise you need whichever harness suits your needs
