Have you priced out cobra calipers lately? Ford bumped em up about $200! Not cool...
You dont have to buy them from Ford.

Ok, i have the 11.6 upgrade on my 92. If i were to buy these cobra calipers, what else would i need besides the rotors?
You will need banjo bolts and redrilled 13" rotors.

You don't need new banjo bolts if you get the newer calipers with the coarse threads (same as Taurus banjo bolt threads).
Baer used to make a kit that used these 2 piston PBR calipers in conjunction with a vette rotor that was trimmed down to 12.5 inch diameter. They would hack the ears off then redrill 89 to 93 front hubs to bolt the caliper on.
I wonder is we could somehow do a more modern rendition of this using a cut down and redrilled Cobra brake rotor - have it still fit in slicers/other 16" wheels.

There are 12" using turned down 13" and using Cobra calipers....
I had a 92 and I needed to buy new Banjos. Just saying as it was hard to find them locally. The calipers do not include banjos.

I think the taurus banjo bolts also changed at some point in the years. When I bought mine, I got them for a brand new Taurus, but the ones that I had would not fit.

I ordered 2 sets of Cobra calipers and one was tapped fine, the other course. You figure it out, lol. It just depends....

maybe it has something to do with the change from 38mm bores to 40mm.
FWIW, the banjo bolts from my 91 calipers fit my Mach1 calipers fine.
There really is only one good choice for someone who doesn't want a track only set up, but wants better than 96 upgrade. Cobra/Mach1/Bullitt PBRs. And for the price of the calipers, even to knock 'em down to 11.6, it is a better choice than a 96 upgrade. It doesn't cost much more than a 96 upgrade with new calipers either.
