Well I make my 45 mile drive to work ok and then I got out to drive about 1 mile and all of a sudden my ABS starts kicking in at low speed. I know everyone is going to say cracked ring and that's probably right but it's been doing this since I bought the car. But shortly after I bought it it just stopped working completely so I popped out the bulb and said screw it, I don't need ABS. Well today it started doing it kick in at low speed thing again. Only it making a horrible sound like I have a half shaft that's messup but it's new so i'm wondering if the sensor ring is rubbing against the sensor if it would make the car feel horrible. Sorry for the rambling, i'm just lost and fusterrated!!! headbang

What have you done to fix the problem? You've just taken out the bulb as far as I see. Did you check if the rings are cracked? Did you check your codes? A code tester for ABS is about $20 and is easy to use. Read your codes as they will tell you the problem or at least point you in the right direction.

1) Where do you get a code reader from?

2) It was fine with it not working untill today. Then it starts the, "I like to engauge at low speed thing"

3) Sounds like **** outside the car like something is scraping and rubbing causing me to think a axel is shot or something major.

4) took wheel off and spun rotor. no sounds or any sensors rubbin.

The only thing I can think of is the sensor wire mount on the strut might be rubbing but I cant see it causing this much noise/vibration!

You should pull off every tire and check to see if you can locate the source of the noise - it may even be a bad bearing or CV joint. If not it may be a sensor rubbing on a ring.

The code reader I got from Canadian Tire, but I think they sell them at Wal-Mart - it is the Ford Code Reader for pre OBD-II computers and cost me $26 CDN.

Yeah i'm now thinkin it's a wheel bearing. With brand new brakes and how it won't make any noise or grinding sensation when I jack it up tells me it's somewhat weight related (putting pressure on the ground). Time to rip out the bearing.

An OBDII reader for an OBDI car to read ABS???

"for pre OBD-II computers and cost me $26 CDN."

Read a little closer.

I bought an actron for reading codes at Wal-mart(20 bucks), and it also does ABS.
